I was sure, I could

go back in time which was mine

with framed memories,

I feel the passage of time

but can never reverse the clock.

Thank you Dorothy for this lovely picture

December 2, 1997

Today, Alen woke me up early. He knew well that I slept late in night but all he care about is discipline in life.

At times, he’s bossy but mother is always on his side and has given him every right to bring discipline in my life.

How could a big brother be so ruthless in waking his younger brother for a bicycle ride and that too seven in the morning?

I read somewhere that a child’s prayer is readily heard. God please help and take my brother away from me, he’s strict and I want freedom in my life…”

August 9, 2017

I just saw an old note in diary. Twenty years ago, I didn’t know the importance of Allen in my life and today when I bid him farewell, I realized his importace in my life.

Alen was my big brother, he was my friend but more than anything else he was the son of soil.

Thank you Alen for making me what I am today

May you Rest in peace bro

Granny: my Fairy godmother

On hearing that she looked like a pink rose, Granny would smile her trade-mark smile.

She loved to remain active and when other women spend their time in gossiping, Granny preferred to remain in kitchen.

Those were some interesting circumstances in which our first interaction took place.  After two weeks of my marriage, my husband called me from office and told me that he was bringing some guests for dinner. I was inexperienced in cooking and on receiving that news, I started crying. Granny lived next to my house, and on hearing me crying like a child, she at once took responsibility of preparing dinner for me.

I remember, everything in her home was clean and it won’t be an exaggeration if I’ll write that her kitchen was sparkling. I saw her pantry and comparing it with my own at home, I felt ashamed of myself. Milk, spices, nuts and boxes were placed in such an order that even a blind person could find them easily. On that day, I not only learned how to cook but I also learned the importance of keeping things in order.

It’s been a while and these days when Granny is ill, I’m not only sending her flowers but also sending her this picture of my pantry.

I know, on receiving these gifts she would smile her trade-mark smile.

Selfless- service

three line tales week 36 service

Ours was a group in class, who never showed interest in studies and the day our teacher’s daughter died, imagining a day-off from Mathematics we took a sigh of relief but when we were busy in chatting and enjoying ourselves, the classroom door opened and the weary face of our teacher appeared.

On that day he was coming straight from graveyard and when one of his colleagues asked him to take a leave; he broke into tears and said,

“Perhaps this act of mine would make God happy and He’ll make home for my daughter in Paradise.”

Journey of life

rain1

The road to success in life is full of suspense, for the misty clouds of darkness and the fear of unknown tend to obscure one’s vision of gleaming sunshine.

This slippery path tests one’s strength and courage. Moreover, man encounters a “series of uncertain events” in his way of life.

His encounter with these uncertain events compels him to resist and despite the might of Divinity, he never ceases to “fight back”.

street

Pains and sufferings are the most prominent aspect of this immortal life, for the death is an “inevitable fact” and we simply can’t deny this harsh reality.

And, then the closer look of one’s surrounding reveals the very fact that life never waits. It tends to “move on”. Crying over failures and holding onto past pains and resentments will only hold us back.

This is the world of brave and courageous people, this is an ongoing battle and only the man of “strong nerves” tends to survive in the end.

It’s worth noting that life emerges from the debris of death and “warrior of lights” are wise enough to realize this reality of life. So, they kept on moving by believing that there is always a ray of hope at the end of dark tunnel.

This is the world of great oceans and mighty mountains and man is just a speck. And, despite of his fragile nature, he “keeps on fighting”.

In the end, his zeal and passion prove fruitful and despite of all his tiredness, he embraces the success with a “smiling face”.

Hope in Despair

132 11 November 29th 2015

The continuous search left him tired. He was looking for some green spot but everything seemed to be hidden behind the misty cloak.

The smog covered the road and in such helpless condition; a silent prayer emerged from his doleful heart and next moment his thirsty eyes found that spot.

Kneeling on ground, child was busy in digging a plant when he felt something fell on ground.

It was a bird.

He took the bird in his hands and tried to feel the presence of life but bird didn’t move.

Then, softly and gently, he placed it on the ground where little leaves of freshly planted tree silently cried for that deceased bird and moment the yellow sunshine fell on ground, boy saw an unusual scene.

Later, no one believed but the boy was sure that lying under the shade of green leaves, the bird smiled for a last time.
